Layne Blavier joined Donan in 2015 as a forensic engineer based out of the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. He has 20 years of engineering experience with 12 years of experience in forensic engineering, and has completed approximately 300 forensic investigations. Mr. Blavier has worked in the following industries: product design and manufacturing, and forensic engineering. His areas of expertise are machinery and product failures, machinery safety and guarding, and product liability. Mr. Blavier’s additional project capabilities include mechanical failure, machinery assessment, water losses, water heater failures, plumbing failures, appliance failures, and fire related mechanical failures, among others.
Mr. Blavier is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator. He holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
